Our Story

In 1962, Dave and Joann Davis opened Davis Body Shop with the mission to make their company the most trusted auto body collision specialists on the Central Coast. More than 50 years later, their mission remains the same.

Through the years Davis Body Shop has kept up with the latest technology and the best training for their employees. In 1983, they brought the first Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) courses to the county. I-CAR offers industry-recognized state-of-the-art training programs to technicians through a hands-on approach. These courses were offered at the shop after-hours with Dave Davis instructing until 1992. With more than a decade of successful training sessions, Davis Body Shop became the first body shop to receive the coveted I-CAR Gold Class certification in 1993.

Because customer and insurance partner satisfaction are so important to them, Davis Body Shop added metrix to their performance by incorporating Autochex, an independent company that specializes in customer satisfaction reporting. Their pledge will always be to offer the best combination of price, product, and service available anywhere.

Locations

davis_location_mapDavis Body Shop has two locations in the beautiful wine country of California’s Central Coast. Both are conveniently located right off Highway 101.

The Atascadero shop is located at 7420 El Camino Real, close to the downtown area. This shop hosts a production space of 8,000 square feet and eleven work bays. For optimal vehicle safety, the shop has a 25,000 square foot lighted secured storage area.

The Paso Robles shop is located at 2485 Theatre Drive, on the Paso Robles Chevrolet property, just past the Target Shopping Center. This facility has ??? square feet, with ?? work bays, and a protected lighted and secured storage area.

Davis Body Shop has built outstanding relationships with nearly all insurance companies in the state and nationally. At the customer’s discretion, we can work directly with the insurance company for payment. We make sure all repairs are approved before work begins.

Insurance Certifications

For 50 years, Davis Body Shop has been committed to the highest quality of service to their customers. By achieving this, they have been awarded:
• Certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, an independent, non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying repair and service professionals.
• Gold Class Certification by the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair. “I-CAR”- an international not-for-profit organization dedicated to training the collision inter-industry.

To retain their reputation for state-of-the-art techniques and active standing in the industry, Davis Body Shop currently holds memberships in:
• The California Autobody Association, a non-profit auto body industry trade association that helps it members produce quality repairs at fair prices for fair profits.
• The Society of Collision Repair Specialists, a non-profit trade association that exists to educate, inform and represent the collision repair professional in all aspects of the industry.
• The Automotive Service Association, a 50-year-old not-for-profit trade association for mechanical, transmission and collision shop owners.
• The Coyote Vision Group, a highly selective peer management group of collision repair owners across North America.

To provide optimal protection for vehicles, each facility uses a Stanley Electronic Security system in their fully lighted and fenced security area.

Customer Amenities

Davis Body Shop strives to make the process of repairing your damaged car as easy as possible. We provide convenient hours- 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. Each location provides dedicated customer parking spots, including handicapped parking. Upon arrival, you will enter our comfortable lobby, with refreshments provided. Our Customer Service Specialist will greet you, review your car damage and will personally go over every detail so you’ll know exactly what work will be needed. We know time is important to you, so we do our best to get things completed within 20 minutes. We will also make reservations for your car rental if needed.

Estimates

All vehicle estimates will be prepared using the CCC 1 Estimating System. This cutting-edge software guarantees a precise and thorough appraisal. Most customer estimates can be completed on-site in less than 30 minutes.
